AIRoA, Toyota Motor Corporation, and AIST Standardize a Data Collection Interface for Robotic Foundation Models and Imitation Learning

In missions that require scaling up large amounts of real-world data, such as the development of robotic foundation models, the standardization of data collection interfaces is essential. The Association AIRoA, Toyota Motor Corporation, and AIST have jointly released a general-purpose interface for data collection. AIST will also promote the use of this interface in its research on robotic foundation models and in activities aimed at real-world implementation. We hope that its adoption by many researchers and developers will help accelerate the social deployment of AI robotics.
