Workshop “Industrial Applications of Robot Learning” Held at IROS 2026

Principal Researchers Floris Erich and Roman Mykhailyshyn led the organization of the workshop “Industrial Applications of Robot Learning” at IROS 2026.
The workshop focused on the industrial applications of Robot Learning and brought together researchers from both academia and industry to discuss the latest advances and challenges in deploying robot learning technologies in real-world environments. The program featured 10 invited talks, 4 contributed talks, and 29 poster presentations, fostering lively discussions among participants.
Team Leader Yukiyasu Domae delivered an invited talk titled “Toward Industrial-Grade Robot Foundation Models: Bridging Data, Embodiment and Deployment Gaps” and also participated in the panel discussion.
The workshop provided an opportunity to share the growing momentum and expectations surrounding robot learning while addressing the practical challenges that remain for industrial deployment. It highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between academia and industry to advance the field and accelerate real-world adoption.
