Dr. Roman Mykhailyshyn is a Senior Research Scientist at the Embodied AI Research Team, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Tokyo, Japan. Also, from 2023, Dr. Mykhailyshyn is an Adjunct Professor at the EPAM School of Digital Technologies, American University Kyiv (Powered by Arizona State University).
•2024 – 2025 Research Associate Professor at the Robotic Manipulation Lab, The University of Osaka (Japan) working with Prof. Kensuke Harada.
•2022 – 2024 Research Fellow (Provost’s Early Career Fellow) at the Texas Robotics and Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin (USA) working with Prof. Ann Majewicz Fey.
•2021 – 2022 Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Department of Robotics Engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA) working with Prof. Jing Xiao.

In 2018 Dr. Mykhailyshyn received Ph.D. in Engineering at the Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (Ukraine under the mentorship of Prof. Volodymyr Savkiv), experimental part of the dissertation was conducted at the National Center of Robotics and STU (Slovak Republic under the mentorship of Prof. František Duchon). He was multiple times awarded the Fellowships of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for Young Scientists in 2020-2023 and the 2022 Machines Young Investigator Award. He was awarded the Ternopil City Council in the nomination “Young Scientists and Researchers” in 2020 and the Ternopil Regional State Administration and Ternopil Regional Council in 2018. Dr. Mykhailyshyn is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.
